Jason Glasmann grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, The Who, Rush, and many other "Classic Rock" bands who were introduced to him mainly from his parents. Jason was always mystified with the heartbeat of the song, the "frums", and found himself air-drumming to old KISS albums, amongst many others. Finally, on Christmas morning, 1984, there next to the tree, was a set of old blue swirl Rogers drums, and the rest is history.

Jason has studied privately with Professor Don Keipp (WSU), Danny Hankins (touring independent), Randy Herbert (Big Boom Inc.), and the legendary Jay Lawrence (BYU and U of U), whom he still studies with today. He is well versed in rock and jazz, and is currently pushing himself forward in the Latin styles, setting a very rare and elite goal of being strong in the "Big Three" - rock, jazz, and Latin. He's very seasoned at incorporating "double bass" drumming into all styles, and is definitely not afraid to innovate, currently working on integrating rock and jazz into a new and exciting fusion style free form.

Jason's approach to teaching is like spinning plates, bringing forward not just one area of the art, but encouraging the student to expand his/her percussive vocabulary, and of course, paying respect to the skills that have contributed so greatly to the art of drumming, such as reading, technique and musicianship. Jason's main objective as an instructor is to let the student know that the quality of his/her drumming is completely subject to the quality of their living, and hard work beats natural ability. However, the arrangement of the two is without parallel, and this is where the great ones are forged.
